Guidelines for Abstract Submission

To ensure compliance and to protect your rights as a participant of the Symposium & Meeting, please read the submission guidelines carefully before submitting your abstract.

Eligibility

All APITS & TSTS 2026 participants are eligible to submit abstracts through the online system during the submission period.

  • Each participant may submit and present an unlimited number of abstracts.
  • Both paper and video abstracts are accepted.

Submission Categories

Paper abstracts are categorised as follows:

Artificial Intelligence

Esophagus

Interventional Pulmonology

Lung Surgery

Novel Surgical Approaches

Thoracic Oncology

Robotic Surgery

Mediastinum

Authors should select the category that best reflects the scientific content of their abstract.
Misclassified abstracts may be reassigned by the Committee.

Abstract Type

There are two abstract types: Original Research and Case Report (inapplicable to video abstracts).

It is important for each submitter to be aware of the types and select the one that fits their abstract.

Abstracts without sufficient educational or scientific value may not be accepted.

Submission Requirements

Title

  • The title should be concise and must not exceed 200 characters (including blank space).
  • Please avoid using all capital letters except for acronyms.
  • Titles should not include identifying information such as authors’ names or institutions.

Abstract Structure

For Original Research abstracts, the body must include the following sections:

  • Objective
  • Methods
  • Results
  • Conclusions

For Case Reports, the body must include:

  • Objective
  • Results
  • Conclusions

Word Limit

  • The abstract body must not exceed 350 words for both Original Research and Case Report submissions.
  • The word count excludes the title, authors, and affiliations.
  • Abstracts exceeding the limit will not be reviewed.

Figures and Supporting Material

  • Authors may optionally upload one supporting image file (jpg, jpeg, png) to accompany their paper abstract.
  • Images should be clear and scientifically relevant.

Video Abstracts

  • Video submissions must not exceed 8 minutes in duration.
  • Only one video file may be uploaded per submission.
  • Video abstracts are categorised under the separate “Video” category.

Abbreviations & Terminology

  • All abbreviations must be defined at first use within the abstract.
  • Avoid overly technical jargon unless essential.
  • Commercial product names should be used only when scientifically necessary.

Language

  • Only English abstracts will be accepted.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring clarity, grammar, and accuracy prior to submission.

Technical Recommendations

  • Please review and save your abstract carefully before final submission.
  • Any revisions will not be possible once the submission system closes.

Compliance

Abstracts not adhering to the submission requirements may be rejected at the discretion of the Committee.

Author Information

  • All authors (including the submitting author, co-authors and the corresponding author) must be listed on the abstract submission page, with the submitting author listed first and the corresponding author marked with an asterisk (*).
  • The total number of authors includes the submitting author and will appear in the specified order in the author list.
  • The corresponding author must provide a valid email address.

Presentation Type Allocation

  • Submitters may choose oral presentation, or poster/discussion poster to present their abstracts, while video submissions are limited to oral and e-poster presentation.
  • The APITS & TSTS 2026 Committee may modify the presentation type selected by submitters based on scientific merit, program balance, and scheduling considerations. Final presentation instructions will be provided upon acceptance. Requests for changes to presentation type after acceptance will not be accommodated.

Award Applications

  • APITS & TSTS 2026 warmly welcomes every participant to register for the Symposium & Meeting. During the Symposium & Meeting, presenters will be able to communicate their work with international experts and be engaged in competition.
  • All participants of Poster Walk (only for accepted Discussion Posters) are required to prepare a 3–5-minute short oral introduction during the poster exhibition.
  • APITS & TSTS 2026 provides top 10 places of oral presenters with a travel grant of USD500 (income-tax included) each. This award applies exclusively to presenters whose nationality and country of affiliation are both outside Taiwan.
  • The first place of Poster Walk Competition will be awarded with a prize.
  • ward recipients must attend the awarding ceremony in person; failure to present may result in forfeiture of the award.

General Policies

  • Abstracts that have been presented at other conferences/scientific meetings or formally published previously are ACCEPTABLE. The submitting author is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all content and for obtaining all necessary permissions prior to submission.
  • All submissions will undergo peer review by members of the APITS & TSTS 2026 Committee. The Committee reserves the final decision to accept, reject, or reassign abstracts to a different presentation format.
  • Accepted abstracts will be included in the Symposium & Meeting only if the presenting author completes registration and payment by the designated registration deadline.
  • The Organising Committee is not responsible for errors in submitted abstracts. Authors are fully responsible for proofreading, scientific accuracy, and compliance with submission rules prior to finalising their submission.

Final Reminder

  • The APITS & TSTS 2026 Online Submission System will close at 23:59 (GMT+8) on 10 February 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted under any circumstances.

A:Yes. All TSTS members are required to create an account through the APITS & TSTS 2026 Online System to proceed with abstract submission and registration.

A:Please submit your abstract via the APITS & TSTS 2026 Online Submission System at https://elite.newhopetek.com/APITS2026/ . Before submission, kindly review the guidelines carefully and ensure your abstract meets all submission requirements.

A:Yes. You may revise your abstract through the Online Submission System before it closes. Please note that the modification function is limited to abstract content only. To edit personal information, please update your membership profile first.

A:Yes, if there is more than one author. One author may be designated as the submitting and presenting author.
If you are the sole author of an abstract, you will be required to present the accepted abstract at the Symposium & Meeting.

A:Yes. All presenters are required to complete online registration to present at APITS & TSTS 2026.

A:All presenters must complete registration, including full payment, before the Early-Bird Registration Deadline.
