CLOSING REMARKS

Yin-Kai Chao, MD, PhD

President of Taiwan Society of Thoracic Surgeons

Typhoon outside, full house inside.
As APITS 2026 comes to a close, I am filled with deep gratitude, pride, and optimism for the future of thoracic surgery.

Despite the challenges brought by the typhoon, your commitment and enthusiasm inside this congress never wavered. Seeing a full house throughout the meeting was both inspiring and deeply moving. It perfectly reflected the spirit of our community—resilient, passionate, and united in our pursuit of excellence.

This year’s congress brought together 550 participants from 18 countries, creating a vibrant platform for scientific exchange, international collaboration, and lifelong friendships. We were honored to host 93 distinguished faculty members, whose expertise, dedication, and generosity shaped an exceptional scientific program.

Together, we delivered a comprehensive academic program featuring a Pre-Congress Robotic Surgery Workshop, 110 lectures, 23 scientific sessions, and 4 luncheon symposia. Every presentation, discussion, and interaction reflected our shared commitment to advancing thoracic surgery through continuous education, collaboration and innovation.

Beyond the scientific achievements, APITS 2026 once again demonstrated the strength of our international community. The exchange of ideas across borders, cultures, and generations continues to spark new perspectives, build meaningful partnerships, and ultimately improve the care we provide to our patients.

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I extend my heartfelt appreciation to every speaker, faculty member, participant, sponsor, exhibitor, and volunteer. Your enthusiasm, generosity, and unwavering support transformed APITS 2026 into an unforgettable success.

To all our international colleagues who traveled to Taipei despite the approaching typhoon, thank you for your trust, flexibility, and commitment. Your presence reminded us that our shared passion for learning, collaboration, and innovation is stronger than any storm.

Together, we achieved far more than a successful congress. We strengthened professional bonds and friendships, inspired new ideas, fostered future collaborations, and reinforced our collective mission to advance and shape the future of thoracic surgery throughout the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.

Thank you for being part of this remarkable journey.
Typhoon outside. Full house inside.
See you at the next APITS!
